The local-first football match cockpit

The numbers remember everything. The beautiful game keeps the last word.

Open any match. Compare two genuinely different model voices, see the facts behind the fixture, and put an upcoming prediction on the record. The engine owns every number; optional AI can explain, but never edit.

Golavo Match Study Desk comparing separate Elo and Dixon–Coles voices with exact-score and goal-model probability lenses
Study → predict → verifySeparate model voices, fixed probability lenses, and explicit evidence limits.

From matchday question to append-only local record.

Three real views of Golavo in use. Start with the fixture, choose how deeply to read it, then keep the model’s claim beside the result that judged it.

Games

Open on football, not setup.

Search internationals, the top-five leagues, and UEFA club competitions. Past and upcoming fixtures share one local index, so the product begins with a match instead of a configuration screen.

Match Cockpit

Change the depth. Keep the same truth.

Casual mode reads like a matchday programme. Expert mode exposes fitted Elo, Dixon–Coles values, markets, sources, and audit context. The presentation changes; the deterministic forecast does not.

Six chapters keep the first read calm; the deeper cut stays one switch away.

Model Lab

Keep the claim after the whistle.

Methodologies, held-out backtests, immutable seals, and scored successors stay together. A result can judge an earlier forecast; it cannot revise what the model said before kickoff.

1.0 Before kickoff · exploratory

Open any match. Read both voices.

Golavo opens on games, not an audit form. Choose a fixture, past or upcoming, and use the fixed Study Desk to compare separate W/D/L voices, exact score and goal-line marginals — with the source behind every claim and the uncertainty left visible. Nothing here is ranked or on the record yet.

For a casual read

Games, separate model voices, exact score and goal-line probabilities, three useful facts, and a clear “we don’t know” when data is thin.

2.0 At kickoff · on the record

The claim stops moving.

A cockpit preview is exploratory until you seal it. The seal freezes the model, inputs, cutoff, source snapshot, probabilities, and digest. Your own score call locks at kickoff with a SHA-256 fingerprint alongside it. From this moment the record is append-only: no path in the app — not a refresh, not a correction, not the AI layer — can rewrite it.

3.0 After full time · scored

The result scores it. Nobody gets to forget.

A newer snapshot writes a scored or voided successor; the first record is never edited. Exact scores, right outcomes, and a strict beat-the-models bonus build a private season against five disclosed deterministic rivals. Track record, held-out backtests, methodologies, and immutable seals stay together in Model Lab for anyone who wants to challenge the result.

Underneath every stage · boundaries, not a step

The engine decides. AI may explain.

Deterministic code produces the probabilities and score matrix. The Commentator’s Notebook turns fixed, source-backed facts into a glanceable briefing with detail behind disclosure. Optional local or BYOK AI receives a guarded read-only bundle and can disappear without changing the match analysis by a single digit.

  • Every displayed number is engine-owned
  • Model voices stay separate instead of being averaged
  • Research fetches only a source you selected and never makes it authoritative
  • Unsupported AI output fails back to deterministic analysis only

Local integrity · bundled in v0.19.0

Local data, with receipts

Refresh approved CC0 sources manually or with consent. Followed matches get targeted checks, deduplicated change history, and an exact-time calendar export. Trust Center keeps application receipts, proof verification, ledger backup, and local checkpoints together. OpenLigaDB stays an optional, display-only ODbL overlay whose bytes never join CC0 or model data.

Open the trust boundary

Leagues, Europe, and eras

Follow competition-local strength and workload, inspect a domestic season’s fixture gate, switch between separate World Cup model voices, or read the women’s 1991–2019 record beside the men’s 1930–2022 archive. Historical records and research stay pinned to their exact source, competition, and era; neither is a model input. A separately enabled Transfer Desk reads one bounded provider window for an exact top-five club and leaves unknown payment components visibly unknown.

Local club room · bundled in v0.19.0

Your clubs, not a profile

My Teams keeps exact competition-and-club favorites in a local browser preference. Current points, one named outlook voice, the next five fixtures, guarded stakes, and follow/pick links share one room without an account, sync service, or new model input.

One archive, an explicit boundary

Titles, finals, appearances, final fours, and player awards come from one hash-verified Fjelstul World Cup Database snapshot under CC-BY-SA-4.0. Golavo selects and summarizes those rows; it never joins them to the forecast index, trains on them, or turns them into a seal.
