Masala Mound Session

Rasoi Pairs is inspired by the readable free-tile rule of Mahjong solitaire. It is not traditional four-player Mahjong and does not copy a Mahjong tile set.

  1. Enter or decline — “Not now” opens a quiet dismissal surface. Nindova stays voluntarily available later that night.
  2. Choose tonight’s profile — Gentle has broader openings across three layers. Deeper begins at a triple crown and asks for more look-ahead through four tight layers. Neither is a level, rank, or ability label.
  3. Read the mound — Gentle begins with six free Tiles and three ready pairs. Deeper begins with four free candidates but only one matching pair; unmatched decoys remain visible as each of the next two crown matches is uncovered. A Tile needs no overlap from above and at least one open horizontal side.
  4. Choose a pair — select two free tiles showing the same kitchen form. A mismatch simply lifts the newer tile; there is no penalty.
  5. Settle — a match folds inward through one brief, predictable brass-and-peacock bloom and an optional deterministic three-note chime. Newly uncovered or open-side Tiles become free.
  6. Ask for help if wanted — a safe pair breathes briefly. Help never removes tiles.
  7. Close — the cleared board settles under its brass lid. If the hidden production boundary arrives first, the remaining kitchen settles under the same lid and reaches the same end card.

The end card begins: “The session is over. That’s the point.” Dim and rest is primary. A secondary Carry three objects action opens optional Rasoi Image Drift: three deterministic board forms appear with visible and semantic names before the same Rest handoff. It collects no answer and is not a sleep technique. Neither surface routes back into play. Closing and deliberately reopening Nindova returns to intake, where another separately bounded same-night Session is possible.

Each profile has 36 Tiles and four copies of each of nine motifs. Gentle uses 24 base, 8 middle, and 4 top Tiles. Deeper uses 20 base, 10 middle, 4 upper, and 2 crown Tiles. The same overlap/open-side legality kernel drives rendering, input, help, active-session validation, and exhaustive verification.

The verifier explores 382 Gentle and 510 Deeper reachable removal states for every tested board recipe. Each profile has one terminal state and zero dead states; every legal choice remains safe. Nightly variation permutes motif placement while each profile’s geometry remains fixed.

The end surface reflects the route qualitatively: Gentle names its woven openings; Deeper names the opened triple crown. It does not report elapsed time, speed, intelligence, performance, or a comparison with anyone else.

“Dim and rest” asks the person to put down the phone, close their eyes, picture one ordinary kitchen object, and let it go. This is an unvalidated product hypothesis, not CBT-I, a sleep treatment, or a proven method for sleep onset.

The production clock begins an unfinished board’s automatic settle at twelve minutes and has a hidden fifteen-minute ceiling. Board, settlement, end card, optional Image Drift, and Rest share that one deadline. The reviewer switch ?review=1 compresses timing without changing order or outcome.

That ceiling is a closure guarantee, not a target duration. The staged crown search is structurally tighter than Gentle in the tested opening states, but Nindova has no human evidence yet for perceived difficulty or typical completion time.
