Hanko seals & barcodes
Place a hanko seal
Section titled “Place a hanko seal”- Open the stamp palette.
- Enter the name or short text for the seal.
- Choose a circle or square preview, then click Place hanko.
- Click the page where the seal should land. You can move or resize it before export.
Warning
A hanko in Orifold is a visual page decoration. It is not a certificate-backed digital signature and does not prove identity or document integrity.
Generate and place a code
Section titled “Generate and place a code”- Choose More → Insert barcode / QR.
- Select QR, Code 128, Aztec, or PDF417, then enter the payload.
- Check the preview, click Place, and click the destination on the page.
Note
Once you’ve chosen a seal or a code, a banner tells you Orifold is waiting for you to click a page — it never waits silently. Press Esc to cancel, or switch to another tool and the pending placement is dropped, so a stray click much later can’t leave a mark you didn’t mean to place.
Scan the current page
Section titled “Scan the current page”Choose More → Scan barcodes on this page. Orifold uses macOS Vision on-device, lists detected payloads, and lets you copy a value or open a supported link. Nothing is uploaded.
