Booklet, 2-up & 4-up

When to use this

You need a folded booklet or want several document pages on each output sheet.

  1. Click Export, press ⌘E, or choose File → Export.
  2. Keep the format set to PDF.
  3. Set Imposition to Booklet, 2-up, or 4-up.
  4. Export normally. Orifold asks where to save first, then arranges the sheets with a progress indicator and a working Cancel — the window stays responsive throughout.

Booklet pads the document to a multiple of four and places folios in saddle-stitch order. 2-up puts two pages on each sheet; 4-up uses a two-by-two grid. For a quick two-up print without saving first, choose File → Print 2-up or press ⇧⌘P.

Warning

Imposition flattens annotations and decorations into the arranged sheets. Original bookmarks are not recreated because several source pages can share one output page, so destinations no longer have a one-to-one mapping.

Password protection and sanitize-for-sharing still run after imposition. Normal exports preserve embedded attachments; sanitize removes them by design.
