v0.11.1 — Keep every page, finish every handoff

Release notes

Released September 10, 2026

Beta

Orifold is in beta, on the road to 1.0.

  • Selected-page and split exports now pass through the same bake as a full PDF export, preserving page decorations and other visible workspace content on the right page.
  • Page-operation undo and redo keep the authoritative member bytes, including embedded attachments, while restoring live PDFKit state separately.
  • A newly added highlight, underline, strikeout, note, text box, replacement, or ink stroke stays undoable after another page operation rebuilds the live PDF objects.

Folder imports now keep one completion ledger through parsing and every password decision. An encrypted PDF unlocked later contributes to the final imported count and returns to its original batch position. Wrong passwords remain pending, skipped files remain excluded, malformed inputs retain their failure notice, and the final status is announced once.

The external update and restore helpers now require a short-lived authorization owned by the running app. If normal macOS quit review keeps the app open and revocation succeeds, Orifold cleans only the current attempt’s markers, returns to a retryable state, and prevents the helper from changing the app later. If revocation cannot be confirmed, it keeps the attempt, reopen and history records and closes further update actions until Orifold exits. Reopen and attempt markers must also be persisted successfully before a helper can launch.

Document processing remains local. Orifold requires macOS 14 Sonoma or newer and ships as a universal Apple Silicon + Intel app. Public builds remain ad-hoc signed and not Apple-notarized unless the release signing secrets are configured.
