Fold a folder
When to use this
You have a folder of PDFs that all need the same finishing steps and do not want to open, export, and close them one at a time.
Fold the stack
Section titled “Fold the stack”- Choose File → Fold a Folder….
- Pick the folder containing the PDFs.
- Choose one or more steps: make scanned pages searchable, add a watermark, or reduce file size.
- Start the fold and follow the per-file progress. You can cancel between files.
Orifold applies selected work in the order OCR → watermark → compress, then validates each PDF before saving it. One unreadable file is reported as one failure; it does not discard the successful files around it.
Where results go
Section titled “Where results go”Results land in a new Folded subfolder beside the originals. Existing names are disambiguated
case-insensitively, and Orifold never modifies the source PDFs. A later run skips that Folded
subtree, so generated outputs are never folded again as new inputs.
Note
The batch uses the same local engines and structural postflight as the single-document tools. No PDF or recognized text is uploaded.
