Stamps, watermarks & Bates labels
You’re preparing a packet or exhibit set that needs page numbers, a “DRAFT” watermark, or sequential legal numbering.
Pick a stamp and a banner tells you Orifold is waiting for you to click a page — it never waits silently. Press Esc to cancel, or switch to another tool and the pending stamp is dropped, so a click made much later can’t land a mark you’d forgotten about.
Watermarks
Section titled “Watermarks”- Choose a watermark from the decorations menu.
- Adjust its text, opacity, and rotation.
- Apply it across all pages, or just the current one.
Page numbers
Section titled “Page numbers”Add a page-number decoration and choose its position and starting number.
Bates labels
Section titled “Bates labels”Bates numbering stamps a sequential identifier (a prefix plus a zero-padded number) across every page in a packet — the format legal exhibits expect.
- Add a Bates label decoration.
- Set the prefix (e.g.
EXHIBIT-) and the padding (e.g.000001). - The sequence continues across every document in the workspace, in sidebar order.
Stamps and decorations are burned into the page at export — they aren’t editable after the file leaves Orifold. That makes a Bates-numbered exhibit stable, but it is not a cryptographic authenticity guarantee.
What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”Every exported page carries the watermark, page number, or Bates label you configured, in a fixed position and sequence.
